| Problem:
UMKC school of Nursing & Pharmacy, located
in Kansas City, Missouri, was in the process of installing
a new boiler. Prior to installing the boiler the existing
slab had to be removed by a local concrete cutting company
so footers could be installed to support the weight of the
boiler. Without knowing what was under the slab the contractor
had the concrete cut. Overall 16 conduit lines were cut, many
being electrical feeds to chillers. The contractor spent >$15,000
on electricians repairing these lines.
Solution:
Construction Solutions was specifically called out to perform
a GPR scan of the area for other locations that the concrete
was to be removed. All conduits were accurately located for
our customer. Instead of taking a chance and paying $15,000+
in repairs and hours spent repairing lines, Construction Solutions
located all conduits for only a fraction of what the repairs
could have totaled.
