Construction Solutions has provided and continues to provide the Panama Canal Commission with consulting engineering and the development of method of work. Construction Solutions also recommends equipment, supplies onsite training, provides supplies and periodic onsite inspections, and operator training. All of these services are in connection with the replacement of the Tow Track on all operating locks. Construction Solution's method of work allows the Tow Track to be cut free and then temporarily pinned in place, which in turn allows the canal to remain operative. During planned monthly maintenance shutdown periods, usually lasting 48 hours, sections of the cut free Tow Track are removed and replaced with prefabricated new sections. This project began in 1998. It is expected to be complete in 2012.
