In late November of 1999 Rick Norland approached Bernard Goblet, CEO of Diamant Boart, Inc., with the idea that there was a demand for precision demolition technology, capabilities, and methodology that was going unnoticed. The current method of selling consumables and equipment for this market tied the technology to the specific sale of the tool. The problem with this methodology was that it limited the knowledge base of precision demolition to the current practitioners with out regard to larger General Contracting firms, Owner Agencies, Architects, Engineers, and Consulting Firms. This limitation has built to the point the market was not growing at the rate that it could if the technology was no longer tied to a specific sale. Most of the aforementioned firms were either unaware of the capabilities of precision demolition procedures, or did not feel they had enough information regarding these procedures to specify the use in contracts.

Market research proved that there was a pent up demand for the release of this technology and that no competitors had the experienced manpower to address this market. To capitalize on the opportunity we decided to form Construction Solutions in January of 2000. As a means of funding this new venture and to continue supporting Diamant Boart's Grinding and Grooving markets, Construction Solutions was also given sole responsibility to provide product sales and support for a period of one to two years. Grinding and Grooving sales responsibility was removed from Construction Solutions January 2, 2002 allowing us to concentrate on growing the consulting market.

The purchase of Diamant Boart, Inc. by Electrolux in July 2002 resulted in the sale of Construction Solutions to Rick Norland effective Sept 1, 2002. Beginning in September Construction Solutions was relocated to facilities near Paola Kansas and established as a limited liability corporation in the state of Kansas. From this transformation Construction Solutions has continued to supply services to the precision demolition industry and to expand its customer base. Beginning in January of 2003 Construction Solutions began supplying Ground Penetrating Radar services to the precision demolition industry. Currently Construction Solutions LLC has performed more than 100 surveys resulting in rapid growth for this service.
